Allen-Bradley 1426-M5E-DNT PowerMonitor 5000 Base Meter — EtherNet/IP + DeviceNet, Class 0.2

Status: In Stock

The Allen-Bradley 1426-M5E-DNT is a PowerMonitor 5000 M5 base-quality power and energy meter manufactured by Rockwell Automation. It is the entry-level yet fully capable member of the Bulletin 1426 PowerMonitor 5000 family, designed for real-time electrical metering, energy monitoring and basic power-quality analysis in industrial and commercial power systems. In a switchgear lineup, motor control center or metering panel, the Allen-Bradley 1426-M5E-DNT serves as the intelligent node that converts raw voltage and current waveforms into usable power, energy and demand values for the plant control and energy-management systems. The Allen-Bradley 1426-M5E-DNT directly accepts three-phase voltage inputs and current inputs from external current transformers, then computes instantaneous and accumulated values for voltage, current, real/reactive/apparent power, power factor, frequency, demand and bidirectional energy. Its accuracy classification — EN 62053-22 Class 0.2 and ANSI C12.20 Class 0.2 — makes it suitable for sub-metering, cost allocation and consumption reporting at a level often accepted for billing verification. What distinguishes this model is its dual communication capability. The “M5E” designation denotes the M5 base meter with native EtherNet/IP, while the “-DNT” suffix indicates the factory-installed DeviceNet communication option. The meter therefore provides both a native EtherNet/IP port and a second DeviceNet port, allowing it to communicate with ControlLogix and CompactLogix processors, FactoryTalk View and energy-management software while retaining compatibility with an existing DeviceNet network.

Main Features and Advantages

The Allen-Bradley 1426-M5E-DNT combines revenue-grade metering accuracy with the communication flexibility expected in a modern Rockwell Automation architecture. Its EN 62053-22 Class 0.2 and ANSI C12.20 Class 0.2 accuracy classification supports sub-metering and departmental or tenant cost allocation, making it suitable for applications that go beyond simple load indication.High-resolution measurement:The meter monitors four voltage and four current channels on every electrical cycle, capturing 1024 samples per cycle per channel and calculating over 6,000 parameters each cycle. This provides the resolution needed for meaningful demand tracking, load profiling and detection of voltage or current irregularities.Dual-port industrial communication:The native EtherNet/IP port supports the CIP Energy Object, allowing the Allen-Bradley 1426-M5E-DNT to integrate directly with Logix controllers, FactoryTalk View SE/ME and FactoryTalk EnergyMetrics without a gateway. The second DeviceNet port retains compatibility with existing DeviceNet scanners such as the 1756-DNB, 1769-SDN and 1771-SDN, which is useful during phased network migrations.Built-in web server:A standard web interface provides configuration, real-time data access and I/O status without proprietary software. This simplifies commissioning, parameter changes and troubleshooting from a notebook connected to the control network.Configurable inputs and outputs:Four 24 VDC status inputs can monitor external contact closures such as breaker status or WAGES utility inputs. Three DPDT control relays and one KYZ pulse output provide connectivity to SCADA systems, pulse-counting totalizers or demand controllers. Up to 20 events can be assigned configurable alarms.
