The ICS Triplex T9110 is a 16-channel, 24 V DC, Triple Modular Redundant (TMR) digital input module designed for use in Tricon (now ABB 800xA High Integrity) safety instrumented systems (SIS). Each input channel is independently processed by three separate microprocessors, and a voting mechanism (2-out-of-3) ensures continuous operation even if one leg fails—delivering SIL 3 compliance per IEC 61508.
The module supports both dry contact and powered (24 V DC sink/source) field devices and includes advanced diagnostics for wire breaks, shorts, and ground faults. It mounts in a standard Tricon chassis (e.g., 3700 series) and communicates with the main processor via a high-speed redundant backplane.

The T9110 is still widely used but considered mature/legacy; ABB recommends migration planning to AC 800Hi or System 800xA with new TMR I/O for new projects.
