Product Overview

The Bently Nevada 133442-01 is a high-performance 2-channel tachometer I/O module with internal terminations, purpose-built for integration into the Bently Nevada 3500 series machinery protection system. As a core component of the 3500/50M tachometer platform, Bently Nevada 133442-01 accepts pulse signals from proximity probes or magnetic pickups, converting them into accurate shaft rotational speed, rotor acceleration, and rotation direction data for continuous condition monitoring of critical rotating assets.Engineered and manufactured in the United States under the Baker Hughes Bently Nevada brand, Bently Nevada 133442-01 belongs to the 3500/50M module family and occupies a single full-height rear slot in the 3500/05 rack. Its internal termination design eliminates the need for external termination blocks and separate wiring harnesses, dramatically simplifying panel assembly and reducing point-to-point wiring faults. The module is fully programmable via the 3500 Rack Configuration Software, allowing users to select among speed monitoring with setpoint alarms, zero-speed indication, or rotor acceleration alarming depending on the protection strategy of the specific machine train. With the Bently Nevada 133442-01 installed, plant operators gain access to real-time speed intelligence that feeds directly into vibration analysis, balancing, and phase-reference applications. The module can be configured to deliver conditioned Keyphasor signals onto the 3500 rack backplane, enabling other monitoring modules such as the 3500/40M to compute 1X amplitude and vibration phase without requiring a dedicated Keyphasor module—freeing up valuable rack slots. While the 133442-01 delivers highly reliable speed indication and alarming, it is important to note that it is not designed as a standalone overspeed protection device; machine shutdown-level overspeed interlocks must be implemented using the 3500/53 dedicated overspeed protection module.

Main Features and Advantages

The Bently Nevada 133442-01 delivers a combination of measurement precision, integration simplicity, and operational flexibility that makes it the preferred tachometer I/O module for 3500-based protection systems worldwide. Its 2 independent channels can each be wired to a proximity probe or magnetic pickup, giving the module the ability to monitor dual measurement points simultaneously or to implement redundant voting schemes when paired with additional probes.Precision signal conditioning is at the core of the Bently Nevada 133442-01. With a standard input impedance of 20 kΩ, support for TMR 40 kΩ configurations, and internal signal clipping for inputs beyond the -24 V to +10 V range, the module guarantees clean, noise-immune speed data even in electrically harsh turbine and compressor environments. The 20 kHz maximum input frequency coupled with flexible teeth-per-revolution programming allows the module to cover applications from slow-rotating kiln drives to high-speed gas turbine spindles exceeding 99,999 RPM.
